M.N. Viner Matching Grant gifting opportunity

M.N. Viner Memorial Endowment

An endowment fund for the benefit of the Leon Public Library was established in memory of M.N. Viner approximately 20 years ago. It is held by South Central Iowa Community Foundation (SCICF). In an effort to reach our current goal for the endowment fund, SCICF has offered to match funds raised between July 1, 2015 and April 30, 2016 on a two for one basis.  That is, for the first $1,500 raised during this period for the endowment, SCICF will match it $2 for every $1 raised to a maximum of $3,000.  If the matching grant is fully met, the balance in the endowment fund will have grown to more than $100,000. This will generate approximately $5,000 a year in spendable earnings.

Earnings from the endowment fund provide support for special programming and events of interest to the public.  Without this additional revenue, some services and programs of the Library would not be available.

Contributions to the M.N. Viner Memorial Endowment fund within SCICF is fully tax deductible as a charitable contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization. (See your tax advisor for more details.) All donations should be made payable to:

SCICF - M.N. Viner Memorial Endowment.

Indicate on the memo line: 2 for 1 matching grant.

Contributions may be dropped off at the Library or mailed directly to:
