M.N. Viner Endowment Fund gifting opportunity

M.N. Viner Memorial Endowment

An endowment fund for the benefit of the Leon Public Library was established in memory of M.N. Viner approximately 20 years ago. It is held by South Central Iowa Community Foundation (SCICF). Our initial goal of having an endowment of $100,000 has been reached.  As of the end of September 2018 the fund balance exceeded $109,000. This will generate approximately $5,000 a year in spendable earnings. Our next goal we are striving for is an endowment of $250,000.  At current earnings rates this should provide over $15,000 annually.

Earnings from the endowment fund provide support for special programming and events of interest to the public.  Without this additional revenue, some services and programs of the Library would not be available.

Contributions to the M.N. Viner Memorial Endowment fund within SCICF is fully tax deductible as a charitable contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization. (See your tax advisor for more details.) All donations should be made payable to:

SCICF - M.N. Viner Memorial Endowment.

Contributions may be dropped off at the Library or mailed directly to:
